The Oaks was built in the 1980s on the site of a smallholding which had extensive glass houses around the site. The old, towering Oak Trees that give the house its name form impressive sculptures in the forefront of the winter skyline and provide welcome shade and a feeling of calm over the grounds in summer. Having bought the house and then unkempt grounds in 2016, focus at The Oaks is returning to nature; playing our part in encouraging wildlife as part of the Greening Warnham movement, and being mindful of sustainable ways of living in everyday life. A wonderful, happy herd of Soay Sheep now live in the large field, providing intrigue in Spring with lambs, and all through the year as the most friendly grass cutters anyone could ask for!
Our pleasure is sharing The Oaks with guests; offering a comfortable base for those looking for self contained accommodation for a break, visiting friends or family locally, or working in the area. We enjoying hosting but also understand that some guests like their own space for ‘time out’. We are within very easy reach of beautiful countryside, as well as Horsham and an array of local towns and villages with a wide choice of interesting shops, restaurants and ‘local’ or ‘micro’ producers. There are many options for time out, as well as a very comfortable base for enjoying inside, or around the grounds.
We look forward to welcoming you soon.
